AURORA, CO, November 12th, 2009 – Aurora community activist, entrepreneur, and social media expert Rob McNealy, will announce his candidacy for Colorado’s 6th Congressional District, live on the social media platform Twitter, during a launch ceremony that will be held at the South Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce on December 3rd at 6:30 PM.


McNealy, a non-traditional candidate and entrepreneur, will be joined by many members of the small-business community to launch his campaign.

McNealy has over 140,000 followers on Twitter, and is the most followed person in Colorado, “I have a great community on Twitter, and I thought they should be the first to know.” McNealy, will be the first Congressional Candidate to announce his campaign in this manner. McNealy, a former radio personality, is a self-proclaimed “small business evangelist” and an active member of the Aurora community.

He is a community activist, and is a founding member of Citizens for Responsible Aurora Government (CRAG), which recently worked to successfully defeat the property tax hike initiative, 4A.

A native of Metro-Detroit, Rob grew up with a strong work ethic, from a hardworking, blue collar, middle class family. Together, they homeschool their three children, two daughters, Riley and, Camden, and a son named Sawyer. They are expecting their fourth child, a boy, this February.

Rob has a diverse background with more than two decades of proven experience in marketing, management and sales. Besides spending many years in the corporate world working for companies in the construction, automotive, aviation and engineering industries as a project manager and programmer, he has built several small businesses. Currently, Rob is the Executive Vice President of Sales for Atlas Medical Devices, a medical device company which he started with his wife, Kristie McNealy, MD. Rob also founded Contrived Media, a social media marketing company, which specializes in training large companies how to engage their customers by using social media.
